Measure your PD

We usually recommend that customers go to a regular hospital to obtain the relevant parameters of the glasses, including the degree of the eye and the interpupillary distance. If you have astigmatism, you need to provide us with the degree of astigmatism and the axis of astigmatism to ensure that our glasses are accurate and reduce the discomfort caused by the data deviation caused by the glasses.
Interpupillary distance refers to the distance between the pupils of the eyes. When going to the optician for optometry, the general machine will automatically measure the interpupillary distance. What is the interpupillary distance of an average person? The interpupillary distance of an average adult male is between 60 mm and 73 mm, and the interpupillary distance of an adult female is between 53 mm and 68. Between millimeters. Note that if the measurement is not within this range, it may be caused by measurement errors, and you need to perform multiple measurements.

1. The size of the pupils are not equal
The distance from the inner and outer edges of the right pupil to the outer and inner edges of the left pupil can be measured separately, and then the average of three readings can be taken. That is, PD=(AB+CD)/3
2. The position of the two pupils is asymmetrical
That is, the pupils of one or both eyes are not in the center of the iris, which is more common after trauma or senile cataract surgery. Its pupil distance is difficult to measure, and glasses can be tried on to determine its value.
3. Interpupillary distance measurement of squint eyes
(1)The examiner and the patient face each other at a distance of 40cm, so that the eyes of the two persons are kept at the same height.
(2)The examiner uses the thumb and index finger of the right hand to hold the interpupillary distance ruler or ruler, rest the fingers on the patient’s cheek, and then place the interpupillary distance ruler at the low point of the bridge of the nose and slightly inclined along the angle of the bridge of the nose.
(3) The examiner closes his right eye and makes the patient’s right eye look at the examiner’s left eye. The examiner covers the patient’s left eye with his left hand, and aligns the “zero position” of the interpupillary distance ruler with the center of the pupil of the patient’s right eye.
⑷The examiner opens his right eye and closes his left eye, so that the patient’s left eye looks at the examiner’s right eye, the examiner covers the patient’s right eye with his left hand, and reads the value of the pupil distance ruler in the center of the patient’s left eye pupil, which is The patient’s interpupillary distance.

When the bridge of the nose of the patient deviates significantly from the midline, the interpupillary distance of one eye needs to be measured.
(1)The examiner and the patient face each other at a distance of 40cm, so that the eyes of the two persons are kept at the same height.
(2)The examiner should measure from the center of the pupil of an eye to the midline of the bridge of the nose to obtain the pupil distance of one eye.
(3)Pupillary distance meter is required for accurate single eye pupil distance measurement.
